Oct 01, 2013Conference targeting professionals involved in the complete life-cycle of offshore structures. |
The Offshore Engineering Asia conference and workshop will be held on 11th – 13th November 2013 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This conference is produced in collaboration with Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP) and Malaysian Structural Steel Association (MSSA), supported by PETRONAS.
The Offshore Engineering Asia conference will bring together key persons from oil and gas companies, offshore integrity management companies, and oil and gas service providers / contractors from across the region. It is specifically designed to target professionals involved in the complete life-cycle of offshore structures. This conference is recommended for all professionals involved in the design, maintenance and operations of platforms, rigs, pipelines, FSO and FPSOs.
The first two days of the conference focuses on two themes which are Redefinition and Optimisation of Design, and Asset Integrity and Life Extension that run concurrently in two streams. Three post-conference workshops will follow on the third day namely Utilising Metocean for Optimisation of Offshore Structures Design, Strategies for Life Extension of Ageing Offshore Installations, and Offshore Structures Decommissioning Planning. It will feature a combination of case studies and expert insights from key oil and gas players operating in mature markets; and will facilitate discussion amongst renowned professionals from leading oil and gas operating companies.
With many offshore installations in Asia now reaching or exceeding their original anticipated design life, there is a particular need to evaluate approaches to structural integrity management by offshore operators to ascertain their adequacy in managing aging structures. Asset management programs must perform an annual assessment of their offshore structures and should any significant change of the structural integrity of the structure be suspect, then implementation of an appropriate repair or strengthening plan must be implemented sooner rather than later.
Ninety per cent of all offshore revenue utilises the requirement of offshore structures, and any oil operator that thinks that the asset of an offshore structure is failure free is adopting that well known ostrich factor of burying ones head in the sand and hoping it will not happen to this company.
Do not miss this opportunity to showcase your solutions and network with potential clients and position yourself amongst the best within the offshore industry. This event is endorsed and accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia with 12 CPD hours.
