The Turnaround Coordinator (TA) - Scheduler is primarily responsible for leading the detailed planning efforts and implementing the scheduling function for Geismar turnarounds. The TA Scheduler ensures all detailed plans are built per the approved scope to meet the TA premise. Once planning is complete a master integrated schedule with “all work” including capital projects and operation shut down/start up schedule is developed into the approved scheduling tool.
Extended hours during turnarounds.

  • Provides assistance to Event Lead for development of detail cost estimate and manpower requirements to TA Coordinator.

  • Ensures all paper work (planning sheets, MOC, P/C, etc.) are current and provide to appropriate planners.

  • Develops master scope work list from approved scope challenge workshop and assigns job identification #.

  • Create work orders in GSAP for MX08 TA capital approved scope.

  • Code GSAP and manually move data from GSAP to P-6 through impress software.

  • Leads field job walks to survey planning to proper detail and sequence.

  • Evaluates impacts from other work fronts, safety requirements, resources and equipment necessary for further optimization/integration.

  • Develops plot plans to depict the location of jobs, equipment and resource density.

  • Supports reoccurring planning meeting with planning team to ensure level of detail is defined and that 1 master work scope list is adhered to and agreed to.

  • Ensures communication for critical jobs and timing for long lead materials are understood by Event Lead.

  • Create logical network of activities and, ultimately, a critical path of work and schedule, that is optimized but achievable to meet the premise of the Turnaround.

  • Works with Project schedulers to integrate stand-alone schedule into TA database files while ensuring TA scheduling coding and methodologies are followed.

  • Understands that the schedule must contain sufficient information, but must be simple and dynamic enough to change with changing conditions during execution.

  • Updates schedule as required. Manages interface with GSAP and scheduling tool.

  • Ensures that plans have details, including activity description, duration, craft and hours, equipment and materials required.

  • Analyzes critical path for logic discrepancies.

  • Leads validation workshop with planning and execution stakeholders.

  • Leads schedule optimization and integration workshops with planning and execution stakeholders.

  • Creates baseline schedule and reporting metrics for plans during execution.

  • Produces daily shift schedules at the activity and resource level.

  • Produce 3 shift look-ahead schedules and communicates to operations and stakeholders.

  • Produces other reports as required by Event Lead.

  • Report progress at various detail levels and overall on a shift and daily basis.

  • Maintain master integrated schedule of overall event and inputs updates into schedule based on reported progress.

  • Maintain log of add on and discovery work and ensures that it is planned, scheduled, and tracked during execution.

  • Provide cost and earned man-hour values to Cost Controller as needed.

  • Works with Event Lead to develop plans to mitigate effects of progress, performance or delivery issues to completion dates.
