Reporting to the senior engineering advisor, drilling, completions and intervention (DCI), you will provide technical support to the DCI central team. This includes various engineering outputs in the form of data analysis, presentation and reports.

  • Compile and distribute reports (daily drilling reports, final well reports, etc.) as well as administer and manage the well delivery model process
  • Review non-operated drilling reports and summarize as necessary
  • Prepare wells montage and time depth curves
  • Assist in the verification and assessment of non-operated drilling and completions
  • Help with the development and maintenance of DCI standards
  • Update time, non-productive time and critical metrics data for non-operated activities
  • Review and prepare abandonment, suspension and casing schematics
  • Collate information regarding ongoing joint venture operations and prepare weekly summaries
  • Assist with administration of well delivery model requirements
  • Review end of well reports and scorecard
  • Produce ad-hoc reports, technical drawings and presentation material
  • Update lessons learned spreadsheets as required
  • Attend risk assessments and any other required project related meetings

Required Qualifications

  • Two to three years of drilling and completions experience
  • Field experience would be an asset for this role
  • Engineering technology diploma

  • Understanding of major activities required to support joint ventures and operated wells activities
  • Superior proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite is essential
  • Self-starter and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and social skills
  • Highly motivated and organized, requiring little supervision
  • A continuous improvement mindset enthused by a dynamic and changing work environment
  • Consistent demonstration of a collaborative work style, adaptable to change and able to work in a dynamic environment

  • This position is based in Calgary, Alberta at the Suncor Energy Centre
