Reporting to the operations manager, you will supervise operations in the most efficient, reliable, and safe manner possible, to ensure that all unit economic planning, production, and health, safety, and environmental objectives are met. 

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities within the plant with a strong emphasis on safety and production
  • Coach and mentor front line supervisors to elevate and maintain the team’s competency, efficiency, and morale
  • Build and implement processes so that the operators have quality procedures for startup, shutdown, emergency operations, non-routine operations, etc.
  • Participate in and lead incident investigations throughout the plant and build plans to mitigate future recurrences
  • Monitor and analyze unit performance while developing and implementing guidelines and practices to optimize efficiency
  • Seek opportunities for cost management, including overtime reduction and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Conduct routine audits of procedure usage and sign-off, reviewing the operating procedures regularly

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum ten years of supervisory experience in a live operating plant
  • First Class power engineering certificate; Second Class actively working on First Class may be considered
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Functional knowledge of environmental, health, and safety management systems and objectives
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team through high impact, stressful situations and to drive our safety culture above all else
  • You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems
  • You act with integrity and hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is a four days on/ three days off rotation and is a camp-based position; flights from our hubs are provided
