This is an exciting opportunity to work at the core of Downstream Manufacturing and support the delivery of financial success from one of Shell's largest and high-profile refineries and its enclosed Joint Ventures. The Rheinland Refinery is one of the four ‘super sites’ in Shell's global manufacturing organization, and is a highly complex, fully integrated oil-chemicals refinery with a hydrocracking-aromatics configuration.

The Senior Controller is a core role within the finance organization working with operations and the site leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the Rheinland and Manufacturing change journey, working across multiple lines of business and other finance teams as well as with external stakeholders (JV’s).

The Senior Controller´s responsibilities include:
•Coordinate the end to end Planning and Reporting Process of the Rhineland Refinery and its Joint Ventures (MIRO and PCK) in close cooperation with business development and operations. This implies interactions with all levels of the organization.
•Coordinate the quarterly required Latest Estimates (LE) in which the site reviews its current performance against plan to actively manage any over-/under spend and lead the “reset the button” process in the end of the year, challenging annual cost spendings.
•Coordinate the site´s monthly MI Reporting including Rhineland Joint Ventures to  create transparency over the current performance, flag any deviations from plan and mitigating actions.
•Oversight over FIB Controlling Accountabilities in particular with regards to provisions, fixed assets, stocks and working capital (Group & statutory requirements) supported by Finance Operations Krakow (functional supervision).
•Participate in Site and Group specific and strategic projects to improve the refinery bottom line.
•Support the Team Lead to drive operational excellence for the interface with Finance Operations (Chennai and Krakow) and Finance internal strategic topics to improve the “what good looks like” Finance Plan.
•Working towards GOAL ZERO, support and drive initiatives to establish a zero incident culture.
