Shell is one of the biggest fuel retailers globally and in DACH (Deutschland, Austria, Switzerland) region. Across DACH more than 2.200 Shell stations including motorways are being operated by some 500 retail partners with more than 20.000 employees, serving 1 million customers per day.
 
As a Territory Manager you will be responsible for managing the relationship between Shell and Retailers at site level, ensuring consistent delivery of the Shell Customer Commitment. This will include the following accountabilities:

 

  • Identify gaps in all aspects of the site performance (including service and people) for the designated geographical area and mandate, advise or offer Retailers Shell-recommended tools, processes and support to help them to profitably deliver the Customer Commitment at the Retail site and to develop the business for the mutual benefit of both the Retailer and Shell.
     
  • Maximize all sales development potential whilst protecting Shells interests, through the coaching and motivating of Retailers. Participate in Attraction and Selection of the right Retailers through coaching, supporting and performance management of Retailers to deliver the basics and higher performance, ensure best Retailers have best sites and that poor Retailer performance is eliminated, manage and maintain positive Retailer relationships, supporting Retailers to achieve and maintain top class site performance (including counseling to underperforming sites).
     
  • Deliver Sales & Operations targets for the designated geographical area through regular reviews and appropriate action plans. 
     
  • Ensure Retailers implement all areas of the Customer Commitment and ensure compliance with the Site Operations/HSSE standards, contracts and manuals. Instigate remedial action plans where necessary.
     
  • Manage and maintain territory plan through Retailer master plan.
     
  • Ensure that Retailers actions do not damage Shells Reputation.
     
  • Ensure that Retailers train and develop their staff, and understand the importance of people in delivering the Customer Commitment.
     
  • Ensure consistent delivery of Shells Customer Commitment across the Country through operational excellence in site operational standards including HSSE and Shell Business Principles, across the Company and Dealer Owned retail Networks.
     
  • Continuously improve customer satisfaction through enhancement of peopleĀ“s competencies/skills and use of customer Feedback.
     
  • Deliver the agreed marketing and network plan and respective Targets.
     
  • Optimize local business opportunities e.g. local cooperations.
