The Production Team Support Engineer (PTSE) provides coordination, leadership, design, and technical support within the production team through problem solving, small project execution, threat identification, management of change, and other engineering support to Operations, Maintenance, and Turnaround organizations

This position reports administratively to the Reliability Manager, but receives functional work direction from the Production Unit Manager of the assigned area.  Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:   
  • Supports GOAL ZERO by actively participating in HSSE activities throughout the site, such as weekly safety meetings, unit PSSR’s, PHA’s, safety audits, discussing job safety routinely with co-workers to identify improvement opportunities, and personally adhering to all requirements.
  • Provide day to day unit support for troubleshooting, threat mitigation, bad actor identification, and coordination of multi-discipline teams.
  • Act as point of contact for engineering support for maintenance work support with regard to engineering issues like pipe sizing, vessel replacement, exchanger bundles, trays, etc., coordinate efforts with other technical disciplines.
  • Participate and contribute as a full time member of the assigned Production Team including attendance of daily, weekly, and monthly meetings
  • Leads or participates in Management of Change (MOC) reviews to ensure safe operation and design of equipment and related changes.  The PTSE may be the Technical Assurance Coordinator for cross-discipline change.
  • Leads the design and implementation of low complexity projects related to HSE threats, reliability threats, compliance issues, and energy improvements.  These projects are typically multi-discipline and will require facilitation among several groups  to execute effectively.  These projects are mainly expense, but may be capital.
  • Participates in incident investigations such as Causal Learning, Root Cause Analysis, or 5-why, and may lead investigations where practical.
  • Participate in Turnaround processes such as scope development, work package completion, engineering support, execution support, post T/A learning
  • Participate in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) activities by participating in  Living Program reviews and periodically reviewing threats, bad actors, SAP work order history, etc. that could trigger RCM review.
  • Network with other PTSE’s, Reliability Engineers, Process Engineers, Discipline Engineers, and industry groups to develop and implement Best
