Reporting to the manager, maintenance and reliability, you will work on a wide variety of technically challenging and advanced equipment and processes within our Fort McMurray pipeline operations team, working specifically with pipeline maintenance (PLM).


  • Actively participate in our Journey to Zero initiative
  • Monitor pipeline right of ways to identify potential encroachments
  • Participate in PLM integrity projects
  • Process Alberta One-Calls, witness and supervise pipeline crossings, land concerns and other issues
  • Complete scheduled weekly pipeline pigging
  • Complete controlled area excavation and foreign crossing reports
  • Supervise third party service contractors as required during pipeline excavations, repairs and construction projects as required
  • Respond to pipeline emergencies
  • Complete reports, and other required documentation in an accurate and timely manner
  • Complete work orders and notifications using the SAP processes within specified time frames

Required Qualifications

 
  • Five or more years of PLM experience maintaining cross-country pipelines and associated facilities
  • Practical experience in pipeline pipefitting, bolt ups, welding or pipeline construction is an asset
  • Experience around operating rotating equipment with proven mechanical aptitude and understanding
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Proficient knowledge and skills in PLM operations procedures, policies and practices, as well as oil spill response
  • Demonstrated aptitude in effectively processing Alberta One-Calls, witnessing and supervising pipeline crossings, land concerns and issues
  • In-depth knowledge of safely depressurizing, purging, pressurizing natural gas and liquid pipeline operating facilities
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • The shift schedule is an eight days on/six days off rotation (10 hour shifts)
  • Participation in the PLM on-call rotation
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
