The Maintenance Team Leader works under the direction of the Maintenance Superintendent with the primary responsibility to manage and optimize the planning and work execution for routine and non-routine field maintenance. The Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for the oversight of a multi-craft workforce (Phillips 66 employees and contractors) with technical support being provided by the appropriate resources.

Responsibilities May Include

  • Managing the safety of his/her work group and assure that craftsmen comply with all applicable governmental regulations, company policies and procedures.

  • Planning and providing for employee development and training to assure compliance and improve craft/leadership skill levels and performance.

  • Planning, scheduling and effectively managing maintenance employees to accomplish assigned activities and projects ensuring compliance with procedures, repair standards and cost constraints.

  • Managing maintenance employees and assigned contractors to ensure high labor productivity, quality and efficiency of work.

  • Supporting turnaround planning and execution.

  • Organizing, executing and documenting daily routine and non-routine maintenance work.

  • Utilizing craft personnel and assigned contractors to optimize refinery reliability and keeping costs within established budgets.

  • Proactively identifying equipment reliability issues and work with reliability and technical resources to optimize equipment reliability.

  • Conducting audits to ensure all work is in accordance with Company safety, environmental, and loss control programs.

  • Consulting with Technical Services and Reliability to ensure that maintenance work meets the requirements of codes, policies and standards.

  • Communicating effectively to resolve schedules, priorities, and other problems.

  • Jointly accountable with Operations for area maintenance costs, PM compliance and schedule compliance.

  • Keeping abreast of changes and improvements in maintenance technology.

Required Qualifications

 
  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent

  • Must maintain a valid driver's license

  • 5 or more years of experience working in engineering maintenance, construction maintenance or plant maintenance

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a refinery

  • 3 or more years of experience supervising employees

  • Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Working knowledge of SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module

The Borger Refinery is located in Borger, Texas, in the Texas Panhandle, approximately 50 miles north of Amarillo, Texas. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units, as well as an NGL fractionation facility. The refinery processes primarily medium sour crude oil produced locally, and heavy sour crude oil produced in Canada, all of which are delivered by pipeline. Borger produces a high percentage of transportation fuels, as well as petroleum coke, NGLs and solvents. Refined products are distributed to customers via pipelines from the refinery to West Texas, New Mexico, Colorado and the Midcontinent region.
