The purpose of this challenging role is to provide technical information and advice on product equivalence, choice and services to customers for all Lines of Business (Consumer, Industry and Transport Lubes, OEMs, Fuels, Aviation, Retail, Bitumen and Marine) in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and MD North.

Key accountabilities of the Technical Helpdesk Advisor role will include:

 
  • Provide general technical support to sales staff and customers. Customers will range from large global accounts, OEMs, our re-seller partners customers to the end users (Public).
     
  • Provide lubricants recommendations and general technical support if required to sales & marketing staff. Provide advice on product tiering within portfolio whilst considering brand pack availability.  Correctly specify appropriate Shell products to be used for specific applications (vehicles, machinery and equipment).
     
  • Participate in face to face customers trainings, seminars, exhibitions.
     
  • Provide OEMs support on technical enquiries and act within SET group updating and/or creating approvals for our products.
     
  • Recommend alternatives to competitors’ products using internal and external web based tools.  Be pro-active in growing SKM, LubeMatch and LubeAdvisor databases.
     
  • Build good relationship and networking within the company, knowing all the information resources, whilst remaining problem owner.
     
  • Liaise with all other Lines of Business to get appropriate knowledge and competence to manage expected queries properly.
     
  • Identify customer opportunities and sales leads to sales, recording key information with respect to product type and volume. Provide transfer of prospect to appropriate Line of business KAM. Track prospects on annual basis with a follow-up as required.
     
  • Acting and behaving according to Shell Global Business Principles, Code of Conduct, HSSE standards and rules.
     
  • Apply values-selling, cross-sell and up-sell principles when dealing with customers’ needs.
