Reporting to the director of upstream consolidation and strategy, you will provide key support in performance monitoring, measurement and improvement of Suncor’s regional development business. Regional development is accountable to create and manage the long-term regional development and optimization of Suncor’s oil sands assets.

  • Build, analyze, and visualize monthly and quarterly financial results, annual budgets and long-range business plans
  • Understand the activities and cost drivers to assist regional development leaders
  • Collaborate with the business to improve internal controls and procedures as they relate to performance and spending
  • Document and record material accruals and cost allocations
  • Coordinate flow of information between diverse groups and departments (SCM, HR, I&PM, MP) to resolve accounting and financial questions
  • Coordinate key Finance master data
  • Support quarterly financial disclosure process
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Two or more years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor degree (Business, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or equivalent education)
  • Oil and gas experience is preferred

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, SAP-BW; BPC knowledge is an asset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated and organized with the ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities
  • Team player and able to initiate and recommend solutions
  • Excellent analytical, data interpretation, and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • You collaborate in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You continually strive for greater knowledge about the systems, processes and reporting practices, in order to understand and apply a broader business and stewardship view
  • You work cohesively in a dynamic, team environment
