Reporting to the manager, market analysis and research, you will collect and analyze detailed supply, demand, logistics and price data and use it to develop proprietary market insights relevant to traders, marketers and senior decision makers.

  • Coordinate  long term price deck used for economic evaluations and corporate planning
  • Maintain and expand upon our market expertise for North American inland crude oil
  • Research, track and forecast the inland oil markets by developing a detailed understanding of the current and planned state of infrastructure (pipelines, rail, storage and refining), demand, production, stocks, imports, exports and flows
  • Combine research, proprietary insights and multiple data sources to model oil supply and demand fundamentals
  • Become an expert on Enbridge mainline analysis and apportionment
  • Build knowledge of markets into forecasts for supply and demand and the associated impacts on location, time and grade differentials
  • Translate the oil market outlook into corporate strategy and trading opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Two years of related analytical experience
  • Experience with assessing economic, mathematical, technical and statistical data and translating insights into strategy
  • Post-secondary degree, preferably in engineering, science, business, or economics

  • Strong computer skills, with high proficiency in excel and powerpoint
  • Knowledge of North American oil and energy markets
  • Understanding of pipelines and market access logistics, an asset
  • Knowledge of refinery, an asset
  • Collaboration with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Demonstrate a high level of intellectual curiosity analytical skills for understanding supply, demand, logistics and pricing information
  • Detail oriented, strong communication and ability to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy, performing tasks in a fast paced environment
