Reporting to the turnaround planning lead, you will use extensive mechanical knowledge to estimate and schedule. You will be responsible for retrieving and collecting all relevant information and presenting it as expediently and economically as possible.

  • Obtain and review historical records of previously executed turnaround jobs
  • Form work requests and scheduled work requirements and develop the turnaround scope of a preliminary schedule/step listing
  • Monitor and maintain a continual update of the requirements and requests, paying special attention to contracts/projects being run at a time or in conjunction with the current turnaround
  • Monitor items which could be potentially problematic with regard to execution and progress
  • Aid with the development of the planned schedule using SAP and the Primavera (P6) planning system
  • Assist in the provision of printouts of preliminary schedules and reports for turnaround management review meetings
  • Review work scope change requests prior to their introduction into the proposed schedule, and projects impact upon the turnaround plan
  • Determine critical-path items and achievements with the turnaround, maintenance and operations group
  • Identify replacement and spare-part requirements for equipment, and prepare the requisitioning documentation
  • Assist in development of post-turnaround activities, review plans and associated monitoring post turnaround
  • Provide and distribute the planned daily shift work scope schedules. Discuss and explain the schedules with each of the individual field coordinators
  • Arrange and classify information for the summarization of planned projection versus actual performance and itemize actual data for use in future turnarounds or other maintenance work estimates and planning situation
  • Develop a critique of the turnaround from a planners perspective

Required Qualifications

  • Three to five years of experience in planning is preferred
  • Experience with planning systems (SAP, Primavera)
  • Possess a valid driver's licence and a clean driving record
  • Journeyperson Trade Certification is required, preferably a Millwright, boilermaker or a pipefitter certification
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Office programs
  • Extensive mechanical background on boilers, furnaces, exchanger vessels, rigging and welding
  • Strong communication, social, organizational, and analytical skills are a requirement
