The Crude and Feedstocks Supply (CFS) team is responsible for the supply of Crude & Feedstock to Shell and 3rd party refineries to maximize the integrated value for Shell. 

Organizationally the CFS team is part of the Trading and Supply Crude Business and works closely with colleagues in T&S (Crude and Products) and with the Manufacturing business in delivering the business intent.

The Trading Analyst is part of the CFS team providing analytical support to the team of Optimizers via closely working with Commercial Trading and Manufacturing sites.


The objective and strategic intent of the Trading & Supply Crude business is to maximize shareholder value created by buying, selling, storing, blending and moving crude; capturing value through optimizing refinery crude slate and feedstock processing, acquiring and managing third party options and monetizing time, quality and location arbitrage opportunities. The crude and feedstock supply (CFS) element of the business is to deliver on the strategic intent through its network of trading counterparties and managed assets, together with its portfolio of refinery customers for whom it optimizes crude and feedstock supply using all optionality as agreed with the customer.

  • Provides analytical support to Crude and Feedstock Supply team in the region working closely with refinery crude economists and commercial traders to increase integrated profitability of the Shell Group.
  • Work closely with Commercial traders in understanding of crude and feedstock pricing and availability information on an ongoing basis to enable dynamic optimization of Trading and Refinery Value.
  • Performs analysis to support Crude Feedstock Supply appraisal process using tools such as CSA.
  • Supports CFS team with IT systems (Endur) for contracts between Crude Feedstock Team and refineries.
  • Responsible for data capture and analysis of both past and currently available crudes/crude deals.
  • Manages data integrity and hygiene for Crude Feedstock Supply Team.
  • Sustains and ensures smooth running of Crude Feedstock Supply business processes and tools suggesting improvements where relevant.
  • Runs economic decision support tools in the generation of economic valuations for use by CFS and commercial traders as necessary. This is a new dimension of this evolving role.
  • Serve as a back up to CFS Optimizers as leave/absence cover.
