The Terminal Maintenance Technician (Los Angeles) is accountable for primary maintenance for all facility operations and the planning, coordination and implementation of major maintenance and capital projects in a cost effective, efficient manner.

Responsibilities may include :

  • Providing primary hardware and software maintenance and repair support for all PLC controllers and program and update controllers as required by product changes and technology
  • Providing primary maintenance and repair support for all plant process equipment, including preventative and predictive maintenance, calibration, and equipment upgrades and reliability
  • Developing and maintaining a viable work order/scheduling system to effectively track and communicate maintenance task and project status
  • Maintaining spare parts inventory controls to effectively facilitate repairs to minimize process equipment downtime and optimize working capital
  • Working with BU engineer in the design, planning, purchasing, and scheduling of capital projects
  • Overseeing day-to-day operation of maintenance and project work by outside contractors to ensure work is completed in a safe, timely, and cost-efficient manner
  • On call to plant Operations around the clock to respond to emergency breakdowns and equipment problems
  • Accountable for the development and execution of the Overhead and Operating Expense Budget for the Maintenance function. Evaluate Capital Projects requirements to meet current and future plant equipment needs
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and plant/ HSEQ procedures and training requirements
  • Coordinating the development and maintenance of Environmental procedures, records and training in compliance with HSEQ, ISO-14001, and regulatory requirements

Basic/Required :

  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • 3 or more years of experience with mechanical maintenance troubleshooting and repair on operations equipment and processes
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Willing and able, with or without reasonable accommodations, to adapt and respond to unforeseen breakdowns in equipment operation and initiate maintenance as needed on an around the clock basis

Preferred :

  • Associates degree in instrumentation/electrical technology
  • 1 or more years of hands-on experience with instrumentation and PLC program maintenance
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP software
  • Working knowledge of the requirements of an ISO- or QS-compliant quality system
  • Ability to understand and utilize database and work scheduling system
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and establish priorities; strong planning and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • 1 or more years experience in a leadership role; drives company core values, including valuing people, ethics, safety and environmental stewardship
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce, functioning in a support role to assist in resolving equipment issues impacting plant operations; demonstrated ability to achieve goals and objectives through influence
  • Demonstrated good written, oral and data analysis communication skills
