Terminal Logistics Manager

  • Provide leadership and coaching to a geographically dispersed staff and promote a strong safety culture
  • Improve and align logistics processes to optimize product shipments to and from the refinery
  • Identify and track industry benchmarks and key performance indicators for logistics
  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to support our long-term growth plans
  • Manage crude trucking, products and asphalt terminals to ensure safe, environmentally compliant, and reliable operations
  • Oversee all scheduling aspects of crude trucking, biofuels imports, and product distribution including ensuring optimization of all distribution channels of rail, pipeline and truck
  • Develop and steward the logistics and transportation budgets
  • Manage negotiations of contracts with carriers, tank car leasing companies, and other logistics providers to support our crude trucking, biofuels import, and product shipping needs
  • Audit and approve or dispute charges for freight, demurrage and repairs
  • Conduct periodic carrier audits to ensure compliance with all applicable Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) and operational standards

Required Qualifications

 

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Seven years of terminals and logistics experience in the petroleum or a related industrial industry
  • Experience managing people and customer/supplier relationships
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Good understanding of Upstream and Downstream petroleum distribution
  • A solid aptitude for various computer applications including, SAP, a Terminal Management System (TMS) and industry web-site applications (i.e. railroad web-sites, tank car leasing web-sites, etc.)
  • Strong contract management and negotiation skills
  • The ability to collaborate with peers and build positive and productive relationships

Preference for:

  • A College diploma or University degree

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • You will be responsible to manage after-hour emergencies as applicable and ensure resolution of any unforeseen logistic issues
