Reporting to the team lead, instrumentation, you will be responsible for the coordination and completion of predictive and preventative instrument / analyzer maintenance programs and repairs.


  • Participate in our journey to zero safety initiative and respond to emergencies with a focus on the safe and efficient operation of instrumentation and analyzers
  • Provide support for a safe, reliable and cost-effective execution of predictive, preventative and scheduled maintenance work on refinery assets
  • Responsible for the coordination, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, configuration and enhancement of existing instrumentation and analyzer equipment and systems
  • Execute and provide feedback on work orders
  • Respond to emergency work call outs in addition to maintaining accurate and up to date records
  • Build positive relationships as the SIM cross functional team (CFT) contact person to improve work flow, communication, equipment reliability within our diverse groups
  • Ensure appropriate information gathered to assist in the decision-making on competing priorities and plant issues
  • Communicate daily work progression and issues and provide input for capital, turnaround, maintenance activities

Required Qualifications

 
  • Minimum five years' analyzer and instrumentation; and programmable logic controller experience in an industrial background
  • Red seal certified and technical safety standards association (TSSA) certification preferred
  • Post-secondary education in instrumentation and control engineering technology (ICET) or equivalent education preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record

  • Strong communication, troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
  • Deep understanding Sieman’s chromatography analyzers and SAP
  • Highly motivated self-directed professional with proven analytical aptitude and understanding of instrumentation equipment
  • Adaptive work style with an ability to handle multiple priorities, challenging demands and function positively in a dynamic collaborative work environment

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • Flexible to work overtime when required and able to work with minimal supervision as well as providing on-call support during off hours
  • This role requires you to perform some heavy lifting, work from heights with the capability of performing in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
