Reporting to the manager, downstream applications you will provide your leadership and vision to a team of testers dedicated to supporting release planning and testing co-ordination for our critical retail applications. You and your team will ensure any and all test processes, procedures and requirements are verified to meet the requirements of our business partners, both internal and external (e.g. Moneris, AMEX, RBC).


  • Provide continued leadership and support, onboarding, training and performance management to the testing and release team
  • Provide leadership and governance for release management and testing of critical systems
  • Work with the development team to understand changes and testing requirements
  • Manage the promotion of code through development, test and production to ensure release integrity
  • Manage testing activities (including automation, supporting projects, certification, regulatory requirements, test tools, and environments)
  • Work with the business and test teams, and provide test scripts and test summaries as required
  • Work with information security and business groups to ensure quality of solutions
  • Co-ordinate with third parties (e.g. Moneris, AMEX) on certification requirements
  • Partner with our project area to ensure processes are understood and propagated down to your team
  • Plan and allocate priorities, resources, and system environments

Required Qualifications

 
  • Eight or more years of quality assurance (QA) experience and release management, including proven leadership experience or vendor management
  • Exposure to testing retail systems (including financial, loyalty applications, etc.) is strongly preferred
  • Bachelors of computer science or engineering is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • You have deep knowledge in testing best practices and tools such as HPQC, Jira, Paragon etc.
  • You have exposure to Unix and Windows operating systems, as well as Oracle and SQL database 
  • You are highly motivated problem solver and bring strong analytical skills to your work
  • Ability to respond to multiple requests from a variety of our business and IT teams, and prioritize accordingly with exceptional client and customer service skills
  • You have superb communication (verbal and written) and negotiation skills to work effectively with others

Working Conditions

  • Occasional travel offsite to gas station locations for support or vendor offices for meetings
