Are you someone who is highly analytical, influential and strategic? We have the perfect opportunity for you. Working closely with the manager of instrumentation and controls within supply chain and category management, you will develop, implement and sustain enterprise-wide category and sourcing strategies and their corresponding commercial arrangements for instrumentation, supporting all areas of Suncor, while also supporting the value creation initiatives.


  • Develop and maintain a detailed knowledge of the sub-categories; consolidating sub-category demand for services at the site and enterprise level
  • Lead the development and implementation of supply strategies as well as the optimized tactical solutions; engage in strategic and tactical decisions with senior peers and leaders
  • Evaluate and develop recommendations for the commercial structures of contracts with both new and existing contractors and manage the strategic supplier relationships; ensure they are consistently delivering services that meet business requirements and drive value for Suncor through the contractor performance management process
  • Develop, negotiate and draft commercial agreements for the provision of services consistent with articulated supply strategies and ensure effective roll-out of negotiated terms and conditions to respective peers and business units
  • Monitor and collaborate to manage potential contractor cost, availability, product quality and reliability risks to Suncor’s businesses
  • Support long term value strategic initiatives working with enterprise technical and shared services and develop and strengthen relations with all internal partners and suppliers
  • Plan and implement supplier performance management program including development and reporting on key performance indicators

Required Qualifications

 
  • Eight or more years of industry experience in business, engineering or supply chain roles; familiarity of the engineering industry, oil sands mining, upgrading or refining processes will be considered an asset
  • Experience with the execution of strategy development, contract formation and administration duties of complex contracts
  • Post-secondary degree in business or engineering, or a related discipline
