Specialist, Light Vehicle Fleet

Reporting to the manager, light vehicle fleet and support, you will be responsible for coordinating the distribution, tracking, maintenance and monitoring of light vehicle fleet (LVF) assets. You will provide technical expertise to standardize a fleet of approximately 1,500 units.


  • Ensure adherence to the operating integrity of our fleet as it relates to government and overall industry regulations, guidelines, policies and procedures
  • Create reports and present updates for the fleet life cycle management
  • Make recommendations to enhance or standardize our fleet
  • Work with clients to prioritize and recommend the proper equipment for the job
  • Ensure the strategic use of assets across the business areas
  • Manage projects for fleet modifications and follow it through to completion
  • Align contractor labour equipment and materials sheet (LEMS) with actual invoices
  • Administrate the GPS system installed in the fleet
  • Share knowledge and provide guidance that will influence and drive client behaviours on the care and control of our LVF assets
  • Provide transparency and updates to all fleet owners on the equipment status
  • Work with incoming fleet replacement units and documentation, and ensure all outgoing fleet documentation is complete
  • Fill in for other similar positions as required during high demand periods

Required Qualifications

 
  • Five or more years of experience in fleet, heavy equipment or truck management
  • Diploma or degree related to logistics or commerce/business administration is preferred
  • National association of fleet administrator (NAFA) designation or accreditation is an asset
  • Project management designation is an asset
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Financial acumen gained through either formal education or work experience (managerial accounting)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint)
  • Competent and continually developing your proficiency in the use of SAP
  • Exceptionally strong communication and social skills, with the ability to work professionally with other employees at various levels
  • You are a highly motivated self-starter who makes decisions with integrity and supports company objectives and policies
  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, in order to understand and determine not just what you do but why you do it

Working Conditions

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
