Job ID

  • Show dedication and support to our Journey to Zero safety initiatives on site and continually seek to improve performance
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to support our safety initiatives, ensuring policies, procedures and safe work practices are being followed
  • Oversee process operating including operator rounds, work permits, shift logs and shift handover quality
  • Build positive relationships with maintenance to ensure all work is on schedule and within budget
  • Lead troubleshooting initiatives and engage appropriate cross-functional resources to analyze and correct operational and equipment problems
  • Audit and thoroughly review field level risk assessments and all permitting, hazardous energy isolation and risk mitigation processes
  • Lead the hourly workforce in accordance with all Human Resources policies and ensure development and competency of the crew
  • Set performance expectations and hold individuals accountable to meet those expectations
  • Investigate all incidents and complete all follow-up actions to improve future performance
  • Maintain a visible presence in the field to build employee engagement, communications and assess work process effectiveness
  • Ensure emerging risks are assessed, handled, and raised consistent with protocol
  • Review and optimize new and existing operating procedures

Required Qualifications

 

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five or more years of field operations experience or working in a tank farm or terminal, refinery or oil and gas facility
  • Production Engineering Technology diploma or 4th Class Power Engineering certification or relevant engineering qualification/degree
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values

Preference for:

  • Five years of leadership experience in a unionized environment
  • 3rd or 2nd Class Power Engineering certification
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and SAP  

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our East Tank Farm site in Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • The shift schedule is a 12-hour rotation of days and nights (six on, six off)
  • This position is safety sensitive

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory. Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible individuals
