Reporting to the team leader, devices and integration, you will plan, coordinate and supervise all activities related to the integration of our critical retail and wholesale systems. You will be responsible for production operational support of devices (e.g. HP desktops, servers, MS office, Windows 7, server 2012) and help project teams identify key areas for focus, while working closely with vendors and support groups on testing new releases, system changes and production fixes.


  • Support retail or wholesale devices on a 24/7 basis and ensure reliable operations and maximal uptime, and act as the main point of contract
  • Review, analyze and report on the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems, and develop testing strategies for improving or leveraging these systems
  • Assist with production support as it relates to device transaction processing and file downloads
  • Manage software releases for devices and apply work with the business and quality management (QM) teams, while providing test scripts and test summaries as required
  • Work with information security and business groups to ensure quality of solutions
  • Work with site systems support on ensuring support documentation is updated and verified at site level, and with transaction management on developing and review site operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Provide support and training to various teams relating to operational aspects of the integration and business planning process
  • Ensure that new software integration into our systems meets functional requirements, system compliance and other specifications.
  • Coordinate and perform integration testing; evaluate results and make recommendations based on findings

Required Qualifications

 
  • A minimum of five years of experience supporting hardware peripheral devices and Microsoft windows packages
  • Experience working on retail and wholesale systems (e.g. point-of-sale) is a strong asset
  • Bachelor’s degree (or above) in computer science or engineering is preferred

  • Highly skilled and knowledgeable in: windows scripting languages, debugging skills and networking is an asset
  • Knowledge of business processes and demands in various areas of retail and wholesale
  • You have knowledge in current and future technologies which can be applied to business demands
  • You are able to plan, coordinate, raise issues or concerns and keep parties informed when situations are appropriate
  • You are a highly motivated problem solver with good analytical skills, solid attention to detail and strong documentation skills

Working Conditions

  • Working in an IT lab environment approximately 50% of the time
  • Some travel might be required to off-site retail and wholesale locations
