Reporting to the team leader, upstream credit risk, the role analyses information on the financial position of counterparties, provide recommendations on credit limits, leading the collateral position of the company, completing reporting as required.


  • Measure, monitor and mitigate, as applicable, Suncor’s credit and performance risk for Supply Trading & Optimization (ST&O) as well as providing recommendations with regards to the performance risk associated with business activities for the Supply Chain Management group (SCM). 
  • Ensure that credit documents are in place and provide the maximum amount of credit protection available as required.
  • Provide consistent and competent back up to the other members of the Credit Risk Management team in reporting and completion of credit reviews.
  • Maintain a strong network of credit professionals and corporate finance professionals in the North American energy industry.
  • Provide backup for reporting in support of transaction activities.

Required Qualifications

 
  • Four or more years of experience with credit risk management in the energy industry. 
  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree or related post- secondary degree;
  • High school diploma or general education diploma (GED)

  • Quantitative and decision making skills;
  • Strong computer proficiency in microsoft applications; specifically in excel;
  • Knowledge of energy industry and credit risk management;
  • Ability to build positive relationships internally and externally , particularly growing industry network with both credit and risk professionals
  • Ability to multi task, manage deadlines, and prioritize work in a dynamic setting
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same
