Reliability Specialist, Mobile Mine Equipment

  • Assess and optimize equipment asset strategies and maintenance requirements and expectations
  • Analyze fleet performance metrics and provide recommendations for how equipment is maintained and operated
  • Support site maintenance engineers and reliability engineers in the development of fleet analytics and remote health monitoring systems/processes
  • Ensure all maintenance and reliability programs are in compliance with the Suncor Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) management systems
  • Support maintenance engineering incident investigations by ensuring results are timely, accurate, that root causes are understood and all actions identified, completed and communicated
  • Act as the technical interface between Fort Hills and equipment manufacturers (OEM’s) to resolve technical issues and evaluate new products to improve mining assets safety, reliability and profitability
  • Use lessons learned from failure analysis results to identify improvement opportunities which includes researching and implementing technical improvements on mining assets through the management of change (MOC) process to improve availability, safety, functionality and reliability
  • Ensure condition monitoring programs are implemented based on the equipment strategy and support data analytics in order to minimize equipment failure and downtime

Required Qualifications

 

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of relevant experience working in a maintenance environment on mining equipment or similar industrial environment (Komatsu Haul Trucks 930E’s or 980E’s, P&H 4100’s, Hitachi EX8000, all CAT equipment model experience)
  • Relevant trade certification or an engineering degree (electrical or mechanical)
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • A proven mechanical aptitude or relevant experience on mobile mining assets
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Alignment with our values

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W. 
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday 
  • Regular travel to the Fort Hills Mine Site will be required SAP:IND
