Job ID

  • Provide technical expertise to operations regarding technologies and methods for improving equipment reliability
  • Participate in operations’ problem-solving meetings
  • Compile a list of repetitive failures and remedy their causes through the application of failure analysis techniques
  • Develop projects for a five to 10 year reliability improvement plan
  • Assist our maintenance and turnaround groups in the process of identifying, planning and executing work on equipment (generate repair/improvement notices, temporary installation, etc.)
  • Provide timely technical expertise to maintenance personnel in the field during the course of repair work
  • Manage the proper use of techniques for the detection of equipment operating conditions (vibration analysis, multivariable condition trends, infrared, ultrasound, etc.)
  • Establish priorities for the area's capital expenditure budget in collaboration with the area team
  • Assist critical project definitions, review drawings and follow-up on deficiencies

Required Qualifications


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Fluent in French (spoken and written)
  • Two years or more of experience in heavy industry, or the equivalent
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good standing with the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Dedication to employee health and safety and the environment
  • Strong non-authoritative, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Flawless organizational and priority management skills disciplined in upholding standards with regards to proper documentation
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a client-focused approach
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with an aptitude for self-guided learning

Preference for:

  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • An understanding of compliant application of technical requirements for piping
  • A technical diploma in mechanics

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work at our Montréal refinery, located at 11701 Sherbrooke Street East
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
