Rail Logistics Planner / Coordinator

Job ID

  • Coordinate rail operations with our partners including railways, terminals and transloaders
  • Liaise with carriers and terminals to ensure the efficient and effective transportation of material by rail
  • Build strong relationships with diverse groups to engage third party terminals to ensure the product is handled safely, efficiently and in a cost effective manner
  • Support effective administrative operations through effective cost control and budget processes
  • Liaise with product delivery personnel and contract carriers to ensure reliable cost-efficient delivery as well as work closely with railway and other suppliers to ensure proper delivery
  • Manage the tank inventory and product transfer at terminals
  • Maintain rail fleet and build the maintenance schedule for repair activities
  • Troubleshoot operations and provide solutions with your continuous improvement mindset
  • Investigate incidents, recommend corrective actions and monitor action plan

Required Qualifications

 

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Five years of experience in an operational or regulatory environmental role covering all aspects of product delivery for all modes of transportation and storage
  • A post-secondary education in business or engineering
  • Strong computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Power Point) and SAP
  • Strong communication skills which allow you to collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical, problem solving, time management skills
  • A proven ability to work independently and can initiate and recommend solutions and improvements to processes
  • Knowledge of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and various related regulations
  • Alignment with our values

  • Supply chain logistics and terminal planning experience

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Edmonton refinery in Sherwood Park, located at 801 Petroleum Way
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs and on call after hours support in case of emergencies SAP:IND
