  • Hold daily safety meeting and set expectations for performance
  • Assign daily jobs and review progress and completion
  • Ensure that a safe plan of action is completed each day for each different work order
  • Consult with our planning and scheduling team on future work and support walk downs for constructability reviews
  • Manage the quality of repairs in order to maintain equipment performance and optimize life cycle cost
  • Coordinate, troubleshooting and repair equipment
  • Review metrics with the craftspeople
  • Reinforce work processes, such as safety procedures, maintenance and reliability processes, and mechanical integrity procedures

Required Qualifications


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 years of related experience in industrial operations
  • Four years of experience leading a team
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Experience working with rotating equipment, repairing pumps, compressors, motors, fans, and turbine systems
  • A valid driver’s licence with a driving record acceptable to Suncor
  • Strong communication skills which allow you to collaborate effectively with dynamic and diverse groups in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • Alignment with our values

Preference for:

  • Previous experience working at a refinery
  • Technical knowledge and deep understanding of refinery processes
  • Demonstrated leadership in a unionized environment
  • Good decision-making skills, including the ability to utilize the knowledge of other team members in a collaborative effort
  • A leader who respects and uses well-established safety practices and procedures to improve the safety in the refinery

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Denver Refinery Business Center, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment and will experience short periods of high stress levels due to the wide variety of issues that may require attention at a time. This includes pressure related to production requirements, the need for improved equipment reliability, and the need for safety performance and environmental compliance
  • You will be required to climb stairs and work from heights with the capability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as confined spaces SAP:IND
