Shell Rheinland Refinery is the largest German refinery. It processes more than 15 million tons of crude oil every year. Almost 3,000 employees in the Cologne-Godorf and Wesseling plants produce around ten percent of Germany's total diesel and petrol consumption, around 15 percent of its kerosene consumption and products for the chemical industry.

For this dynamic location we are currently looking for a Project Portfolio Manager to join our team.

What is the role about?
In the role of Project Portfolio Manager you are responsible for the analysis of the project portfolio with the aim to support the allocation and the fulfilment of the Capex / Revex latest estimate and Capex / Revex phasing.
You support the project managers and production units concerning the Shell Group approval process for Capex investment and requesting setting WBS-structure and acts as Capex Focal Point. This includes also generation of management reports.
Furthermore, you will manage and control Value of Work Done (VOWD) and scope changes within the different project phases and controls the budget set-up after Capex investment has been approved.

A special challenge can be found in the full management of the approvals at the stage-gates of the projects, like the approval of schedules and cost estimates.

Your key activities in this role are to:
•support allocation and fulfilment of Capex / Revex Latest Estimate and Phasing and VOWD-tracking
•communicate the project progress and specific topics to the Site Leadership Team
•provide input to the site plan for asset integrity / maintain margin projects
•act and support as a technical focal point to Finance
•process-admin for the Group Investment Proposals (large projects) and the small / medium capital investment approval process (routing of necessary approvals)
•act as a Capex focal point (bi-monthly report of all projects)
•take care of the quarterly collection and systematic analysis of project Key Performance Indicators (KPI´s)

You will also be responsible for the Asset Master Planning (AMP) by supporting the Site Process Owner and Focal Point, taking care of the data administration and management; especially for growth projects
You take care of the training and coaching of users and will act as a super-users for these interfaces.

As this role will bring you the opportunity to develop to, and act as, a the stand-in during absence of the Team Lead Project Services, this position offers you a great opportunity to dive in more deeply in the project governance process for the Rheinland Refinery.
