Project Coordinator, Maintenance, Petro-Canada

Are you interested in helping Petro-Canada coordinate our construction and maintenance capital projects for our retail and wholesale operations? Reporting to the team leader, asset management support, you will play a key role in supporting the project managers in ensuring our facilities are constructed to corporate standards, within specified timelines and within approved budget constraints.


  • Ensure timely execution of multiple projects through each phase (e.g. procurement, construction, payment)
  • Liaise effectively with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors through collaborative discussions on procurement and scheduling requirements; request services and equipment as required
  • Fulfill a project controls role (both finance and procurement) on sales and marketing projects
  • Support and coordinate national capital upgrade programs
  • Oversee submittals and procure all close-out documents, which includes warranties and both operating and maintenance manuals
  • Develop and maintain a well-organized filing system for operations that permits easy reference and rapid retrieval of information
  • Attend project status meetings and provide status reports to your projects
  • Promote continuous improvement opportunities and ensure process documents are updated and communicated
  • Support and drive our Journey to Zero safety program

Required Qualifications

 
  • You have a total of five years of work experience, with at least two or more years of experience in project coordination
  • Exposure to retail and wholesale projects is a strong asset
  • Post-secondary education preferably in a technical stream related to construction or equivalent

  • Bilingual in English and French is preferred (both verbal and written); you are a self-starter able to work independently but also interface and communicate effectively with others
  • You have exposure to Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate excel ability, and SAP or a similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software
  • Understanding of engineering and design practices as they relate to retail service stations, car washes, wholesale cardlock, and bulk facilities is an asset
  • Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards is an asset
  • You are passionate about safety with a proven safety mindset to ensure safeguarding of guests, site personnel and the environment
