Job ID

  • Co-manage the SDS administrator inbox to ensure product approval requests are processed in a timely fashion
  • Conduct SDS reviews to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Update vendor SDS within the SAP system by utilizing a vendor expiry report
  • Identify duplicate vendor SDSs in the system and find opportunities for consolidation
  • Support SAP product safety system maintenance
  • Manage obsolete and discontinued materials
  • Work with environmental health and safety (EH&S) systems and our technology group to support automation efforts
  • Compile and communicate product safety analytical data (e.g. SAP reports, key performance indicator statistics etc.) to internal stakeholders
  • Support product safety system-related continuous improvement projects and maintain appropriate documentation

Required Qualifications


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • One year of experience in the petroleum, petrochemical, or manufacturing industry, and/or entry level knowledge and understanding of product safety, product purchasing and EH&S processes
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills and you are able to thrive in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • The ability to follow detailed directions and work both independently and in a team environment.

Preference for:

  • Current understanding of the Hazardous Products Act (HPA) and Regulations (HPR)
  • Prior SAP experience
  • Awareness of hazardous products in the workplace
  • Bilingual in English and French
  • A continuous improvement mindset and are able to seek greater knowledge and understanding of the systems, process and hazards in the workplace
  • Ability to use professional judgement and analytical skills to provide innovative and effective solutions for simple to moderate issues

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway

Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
