Shell is pleased to announce that we are looking for an Operations Support Engineer (OSE) in Shell Martinez' Production Support Department, part of the site's Technology organization.

The OSE supports one or more Production Unit teams by providing technical assurance (process technology and process safety), troubleshooting, process unit optimization and margin improvement idea generation.


The assigned areas/units will cover some -or all- of the refinery’s gas treating units, sulfur recovery units (Claus/SCOT/Incinerator) and their site integration systems. The role could be expanded to other site integration systems and/or process plants.
The supported process plant portfolio may change over time, based on site needs. 
 
 
 Operations Support Engineers are responsible for:
  • Proactive technical monitoring, optimization and troubleshooting of process units
  • Process safety leadership for assigned process unitLeading initiatives that provide improvements in unit margin and energy efficiency
  • Front end development of improvement projects in the area of Reliability, HSSE, Cost, Margin and Energy
  • Leading resolution of medium and long term process problems within a multi-discipline team
  • Technical support to plant turnarounds (work scope, decontamination, field inspection, shut-down & start-up)
  • CO2 and energy management of process units
An essential part of this position is to provide technical coaching/mentoring (technical and work process) to less experienced department members (Graduates, JG5 staff and interns). Demonstrable experience in this area is a big plus.


Work schedule: 9/80. With this schedule, you have every other Friday off.
