Are you a Petrophysicist who would be passionate about helping us develop and explore activities in the UK and Norway sectors of the North Sea and adjacent offshore areas? You will work with a collaborative and technically strong team of Geoscientsts and Engineers to help characterize different types of exploration and development plays in these regions, focusing on clastic formations and both stratigraphically and structurally-controlled traps.

 

You will use your expertise to:

  • Review and recommend open and cased hole formation evaluation programs for planned drilling activities in order to ensure appropriate data is acquired to answer critical evaluation questions
  • Integrate drilling information, core, LWD/MWD, and wireline well data into the evaluations of newly drilled wells
  • Complete multi-well petrophysical projects on existing well data
  • Review and update existing data quality control procedures and monitor its application in order to maintain the quality of the acquired data
  • Undertake assessments of petrophysical evaluation hardware and software technologies in order to maintain an updated state of knowledge of evolving evaluation capabilities being developed by industry

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Eight years of experience as a Petrophysical Specialist
  • Experience working petrophysical evaluations on North Sea and adjacent regions
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geophysics or Engineering 
  • A basic level of knowledge of fundamental geological principles and processes (depositional environments, trap types, and hydrocarbon generation)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely and develop positive relationships with others at various levels of our company
  • Motivation to work well both independently and within a team environment, with minimal supervision
  • The ability to exercise good judgment on complex decisions while managing multiple priorities 
  • Alignment with our values of: safety above all else, respect, raise the bar, commitments matter and do the right thing

Preference for:

  • Well operations/field data acquisition experience
  • Paradigm Geolog work station experience
  • The ability to plan and execute special core analysis projects

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work from our Aberdeen, UK office, which is located at 28b Albyn Place
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • Regular travel to our Norwegian office in Stavanger is required
  • Occasional offshore visits may be required
  • You may be required to provide 24/7 operational support when logging and/or coring operations are underway
