Are you passionate about using your nursing skills in a fast pace dynamic role?  In this temporary position, reporting to the Supervisor of the health centre you will assure the quality, integrity and value of health services while working with an interdisciplinary team of OH&S professionals.

  • Accountable and supports other medical providers in all health initiatives pertaining to employees and contractors working on Suncor sites and/or lodges.
  • Provision of services including health surveillance programs, health evaluations, initial first aid treatment, modified work, education, health promotion, disease prevention and disability case management
  • Collect and analyze comprehensive medical information and apply professional discernment with mentorship on complex issues
  • Act as an authority on occupational health and applicable provincial regulations and codes for your area of practice
  • Communicate and consult with healthcare professionals, management and workers
  • Provide specialty education and training as required
  • Maintain confidential medical records

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of nursing experience
  • Post-secondary education in nursing, baccalaureate degree preferred
  • Active and in good standing registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • CPR level C, Audiometry and Spirometry certification
  • Occupational Nurse certificate and registration with an association is preferred

  • Experience in health surveillance testing and programs
  • Deep understanding and proficiency in industrial first aid or clinical settings is preferred
  • Computer proficiency and experience with SAP, Medgate GX2 and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • The shift schedule is a Monday to Friday rotation
  • You will spend the majority of your time in the health surveillance testing rooms located at the base-plant site but may be called upon for some occasional coverage in the first aid and treatment rooms
  • This is a temporary position for a period of 12 months
