Are you a strong problem solver who takes a proactive approach to maintenance execution? Do you strive to ensure a safe environment? Reporting to the operations manager, you will be the main contact for the operations team relating to any ongoing maintenance execution, planning, scheduling, prioritization and outage/turnaround planning.


  • Work with the operations coordinator to understand all work notifications required and take input from operations coordinator approvals, priorities, requirements, risks and operational impacts
  • Support planning, scheduling and field monitoring of all scheduled and break-in maintenance activities on specified assets
  • Provide input to turnaround and major equipment outage planning, scoping, and support activities
  • Work closely with the operations coordinator to align all field operations with the maintenance schedule requirements
  • Prepare and execute the maintenance work consistently and to applicable standards, and collaborate with team members to monitor it in a safe, environmentally acceptable and efficient manner
  • Oversee all routine maintenance activities within the area  
  • Maintain strict compliance with maintenance procedures, processes and tracking tools for the corrective and preventative maintenance program
  • Conduct all maintenance in a safe and reliable manner and ensure the assets and equipment are cost-effective

Required Qualifications

 
  • Minimum five years of maintenance execution experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Commissioning, start-up and shut-down and turnaround experience is an asset
  • Preference for a valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman  Certificate, Power Engineering Certificate or technical diploma
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Strong maintenance planning skills
  • Exceptionally strong safety focus with a continuous improvement mindset
  • You build positive relationships and collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems, processes and hazards in the workplace, in order to understand not just what you do but why you do it
  • You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
  • You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
