The purpose of the Maintenance Engineer Team Lead (Mechanical) is to lead and manage his/her team in execution of mechanical related maintenance in the process unit meeting the maintenance targets (HSSE, Meeting Plan, KPIs, Budget, etc) as set for his/her team. The role also assures the development of Crafts/Maintenance Technicians, Assistant Engineers and Engineers and in executing and sustaining work processes (eg GAME ME, MOC, RCM).
 
Responsibilities include:
 
  • Responsible for day-to-day corrective and proactive maintenance and/or troubleshooting upgrading for all mechanical & Rotating Equipment engineering related matters for one of the Process Units in general.
  • Execute maintenance of static and rotating equipment in the production unit and adhering to ME processes.
  • Responsible for managing maintenance Engineers, Assistant Engineers (AE), technicians and closely supervises contractors' personnel activities and ensuring optimum usage of contractor manpower.
  • Responsible for prioritizing, schedule and conduct maintenance execution work process on all mechanical equipment-related works in the PU to ensure quality maintenance carried out in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Work with PU Planner for preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Prepare job specifications of the mechanical maintenance team.
  • Work closely and establish good teamwork with Operations, Technology, Maintenance and Technical Support Group in carrying out routine maintenance, shutdowns and minor project works in the PU.
  • Responsible for planning, organizing and executing mechanical equipment maintenance related Non- routine maintenance and Shutdown work to achieve the targets on HSSE, schedule, duration and cost.
  • Responsible for planning, executing, coordinating and managing plant changes and minor mechanical related projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for providing good documentation to ensure all equipment technical records and drawings are updated to reflect the latest changes in GSAP.
  • Provide constructive feedback/technical advice/input to Operations staff in the PU and his/her maintenance team on mechanical matters.
  • Seeks continual improvement in technology, procedures and techniques to improve mechanical equipment performance.
  • Responsible for maintaining work requests planning and records on maintenance works using GSAP system.
  • Provide input to supervisors in planning/preparing/monitoring budget for all Mechanical maintenance work and executes the works within the budget.
  • Perform equipment troubleshooting and provide feedback to custodian.
  • Maximize the productivity of the contractor.
  • Implement and drive LEAN initiatives within the team.
  • Plan and execute projects as assigned meeting the safety, budget and quality targets.
  • Responsible for staff and contractors skills, safety and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance of mechanical engineering practices and assets with statutory obligations, Engineering Codes of Practices and Shell DEP (Design Engineering Practice) Standards.
  • Ensure contractors work safely and maximizes their productivity.
