Reporting to the manager, rail operations, you will be responsible for the coordination and administration of our rail delivery logistics.

  • Coordinate rail operations with our partners
  • Build positive relations to engage third party terminals in ensuring product is handled safely, efficiently and in a cost effective manner
  • Support effective administrative operations through effective cost control and budget processes
  • Liaise with product delivery personnel and contract carriers to ensure reliable cost efficient delivery as well as working closely with railway and other suppliers to ensure proper delivery
  • Negotiate rail rates with our carriers and work with legal on contract approvals
  • Manage tank inventory and product transfer at terminals
  • Maintain rail fleet and build maintenance schedule for repair activities
  • Trouble shoot operations and provide solutions

Required Qualifications

  • Two or more years of experience in transportation logistics or scheduling
  • Post-secondary education preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Knowledgeable on industry contacts within the rail, truck and marine spheres
  • Knowledge of budgeting processes
  • You collaborate with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value, with the ability to work independently and manage your time to meet deadlines
  • Working knowledge of SAP (MM Module) and railway shipping systems is considered an asset
  • You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix it
  • You react quickly to problems to resolve them before they advance

Working Conditions

  • You are available to answer calls after hours in case of emergencies
