Are you an organized, safety conscious individual with excellent time management skills looking for an exciting new career opportunity? Reporting to the laboratory supervisor at the Edmonton refinery you will be responsible for the safe and accurate testing of finished products and unit streams in accordance to established quality management system (QMS) and standard operating procedures (SOP).


  • Carries out physical and analytical job requirements in a consistent, safe manner
  • Performs routine and periodic testing according to established QMS and SOP on finished products and unit streams
  • Conducts certifications of base tanks and product blends
  • Conducts quality assurance checks, calibrations and control charting by following statistical rules and performs corrective action when necessary
  • Performs minor maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory equipment
  • Responsible for the dynamic improvement of laboratory skills and knowledge by completion of required training
  • Reviews/revises QMS and SOP as required

Required Qualifications

 
  • Analytical Laboratory experience in an Industrial Operations setting is an asset
  • Experience with ISO 9001:2015 standard compliance and requirements
  • Chemical technology diploma or bachelor of science with related laboratory experience

  • Competent computer skills (Excel, Word and LIMS)
  • Safety conscious and understands, appreciates, and demonstrates safe work practices and a dedication to zero harm
  • Statistical process control and statistical techniques
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good laboratory practices knowledge and skills
  • Strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills
  • Mechanically inclined
