  • Ensure that the tasks performed comply with the sulphur plant's rules and regulations as it pertains to the health and safety (H&S) and the environment
  • Install, inspect, maintain, and repair all equipment within the department
  • Carry out preventive maintenance, such as instrument calibration
  • Execute and document all maintenance activities and the maintenance process
  • Manage all related tasks assigned, such as occasionally monitoring confined spaces or acting as a safety rescue team member
  • Provide support and assistance to your peers with mechanical tasks where required
  • Request and track quotes from our suppliers as necessary
  • Comply with the electrical code

Required Qualifications


Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Alignment with our values
  • Fluency in French (verbal and written)
  • Two years of relevant work experience
  • A post-secondary education in instrumentation and controls, or the equivalent education in a related field (or in the process of obtaining)
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Exceptional knowledge of current health and safety industry rules and practices
  • Strong knowledge of instrument programming procedures (e.g. Field Care software, ASM, etc.) and BMS systems
  • The ability to understand and analyze plot plans, diagrams, schematics, and control logic
  • A familiarity with distributed control systems and the ability to adjust control loops
  • Strong proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to make timely decisions

Preference for:

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written)
  • Non-construction electrical licence
  • Knowledge of the maintenance of the various control instruments used for industrial chemical processes and the application of technical requirements and quality standards in the petrochemical sector

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work at our Montréal sulphur plant, located at 11450 Cherrier Street East
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday
  • This position is safety sensitive
  • You will need to be available to work overtime outside of normal working hours, as required
  • You will need to use tools at your disposal to lift heavy loads on occasion
  • You will be required to work at heights on platforms or with mobile lifting equipment
  • You should be comfortable working in a variety of environments, both indoor and outdoor, in confined spaces and at times with respiratory protective devices SAP:IND
