  • Liaise with production to understand the E&I equipment that is unreliable to develop and maintain asset risk/opportunity register
  • Provide reliability engineering and root cause and failure analysis support as required
  • Assist in the technical development of assigned project P&IDs
  • Provide recommendations for sustaining and major projects (e.g., scoping studies, model reviews, document reviews, scoping study reviews, system studies, datasheets, detailed designs)
  • Provide support in commissioning new equipment
  • Focus on priority assigned and develop scope of work keeping safety as top priority followed by reliability, quality and availability of E&I assets
  • Ensure system is capable for new additions without impacting the capacity or operability of the existing system
  • Investigate equipment failures, system upsets and provide recommendations
  • Participate in equipment installation inspections, modifications, testing and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment for sustainable and reliability groups
  • Develop E&I installation drawings, data sheets and specifications, in full compliance with recognized industry standards, safety standards, and various client specifications
  • Recommend system improvements with newer technology
  • Participate as an active member of the risk review teams and provide leadership in loss management techniques such as the Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) process
  • Promoting and working towards a reliability culture and dedicated maintenance

Required Qualifications

 
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical or instrumentation engineering
  • Six or more years in reliability engineering and management tools with experience in E&I  engineering
  • Knowledge of design, maintenance, testing and commissioning E&I equipment
  • Experience with management of change (MOC) process and workflow
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable industry standards
  • Working knowledge of Hazardous Area installations
  • Experienced in the application/selection and installation of field instruments and valves
  • HAZOP experience.
  • Knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC)
  • Knowledge of Electric Heat Trace (EHT) design, maintenance and troubleshooting

  • Knowledge of SAP plant maintenance CMMS
  • Collaborate with requesters through process variations so that workable solutions meet the standard
  • Proven ability to lead multiple and changing priorities under tight deadlines with strong decision-making skills
  • Strong sense of ownership, with demonstrated interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Understand complex processes, and strive to develop and implement continuous improvement and creative process enhancements
