Shell Rheinland Refinery is the largest German refinery. It processes more than 15 million tons of crude oil every year.
Almost 3,000 employees in the Cologne-Godorf and Wesseling plants produce around ten percent of Germany's total diesel and petrol consumption, around 15 percent of its kerosene consumption and products for the chemical industry.

For this location we are currently looking for a Discipline Engineer Rotating Equipment.

What is the role about?
In this role your responsibilities will include:
•providing all necessary support and knowledge on RE (Rotating Equipment) for projects (brown- and green field)
•accountability for the RE engineering according to the ORP under consideration of the relevant standards (American Petroleum Institute, Design and Engineering Practice etc.) and local legislation and policies requirements
•accountability for the right specification and selection of rotating equipment and utilities, especially for different types of pumps, blowers, fans, compressors and turbines.
You will design standard selection to the latest requirements for RE and auxiliaries according to Design and Engineering Practice and Shell regulations and verify gaps on Design and Engineering Manual and use derogation system.
Besides all this, you will
*ensure compliance with HSSE requirements, local legislation and policies requirements and RE section of Basic Design Package and Basic Design Engineering Package as per the project standard templates and check consistency with other disciplines.
•take care of consideration of life cycle issues and align with system operating and maintenance activities
*ensure that assigned projects related to RE are implemented without Total Recordable Case Frequency/Lost Time Injury.
•provide field support during construction and start-up.
Additonal activities:
•Quality Assurance/Quality Control management and inspection plans, verify that suppliers and contractors comply with agreed scope and quality. Ensure vendor drawings and manuals reflects "as built" status and provide input to overall project "as built" activity.
•Select/Check proper Factory Acceptance Test/Site Acceptance Test to assure required functionalty and design criteria
•Provide cost effective and fit for purpose solutions.

The Discipline Engineer as Lead in multi-disciplinary projects typically has to manage the interface to other disciplines, engineering partners and other stakeholders. He/she will provide technical assurance for RE-Engineering in large projects and plant changes. The Discipline Engineer is accountable for cost estimation and managing the project budget for his/her discipline.
