Reporting to the superintendent, buildings, you will be responsible for coordinating facility maintenance operations and to perform a variety of technical tasks relative to facility maintenance on site. In this position, you will also be responsible for maintaining the assets within the operating environment and life cycle usage of these facilities and to provide timely, cost-effective facility maintenance services throughout the plant site for all non-production assets.

  • Coordinate all maintenance activities for non-production assets of Oil Sands facilities
  • Ensure all facilities meet code with respect to all applicable regulatory codes and standards
  • Set a quality standard of workmanship and ensure inspection is present when required
  • Understand the work flow process in order to assist the planning group with job package development and to better coordinate with the trades, contractors and services
  • Work with operations to ensure a safe, secured, isolated and protected work area for maintenance work
  • Support other departments such as planning, supply chain management, and technical and reliability to ensure alignment of priorities and assist if required
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with other business units to ensure reliable operation and timely service
  • Support break in works, as and when required
  • Maintain facility assets including: maintenance coordination and control the usage of assets to ensure safety, regulatory compliance and control costs

Required Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of related maintenance coordination experience
  • Post-secondary education in the mechanical field with preference given to candidates with a Valid Alberta Journeyman Mechanical Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Mechanical Certificate; attach your Journeyman / Red Seal ticket with your application in order to be considered
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • You possess strong knowledge of HVAC and associated equipment
  • Computer proficiency, specifically in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as exceptional people skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • You are a highly motivated, self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal skills, and is able to contribute effectively in a team environment
  • You value integrity and hold others accountable and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • The shift schedule is a 5 days on/4 days off rotation (5 days on, 4 days off, 4 dayson, 5 daysoff; 12-hour shifts). Also can we add that is subject to change if business need requires it.
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
