Reporting to the manager, supply chain management, project materials, you will coordinate the materials handling activities at site or shop to ensure availability of materials. You will be responsible for planning and tracking the receipt of equipment and materials as well as expediting and coordinate delivery of materials.


  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding annual project materials management performance targets
  • Outline fabrication priorities to home office materials management coordinator and the project team to support fabrication and construction requirements
  • Ensure materials shortages are addressed in a timely fashion
  • Coordinate the unloading, receiving, control and distribution of construction materials to various contractors in the assigned area
  • Propose procedural recommendation to support the ongoing development of materials management activities
  • Upon receipt of material, complete final transaction into the system
  • Collaborate regularly with home office supply chain management, construction management, and contractor material management personnel to ensure materials arrive at construction site on time
  • Meet regularly with contractor’s materials management representatives to discuss and update future plans for materials and provide appropriate information to the project team
  • Assist quality assurance and quality control to perform inspections on incoming materials

Required Qualifications

 
  • Three or more years of experience in supply chain and/or construction
  • Oil and gas, mining or utilities industry experience preferred
  • Post-secondary degree in business or supply chain preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Access and Excel is preferred
  • SAP and/or material management systems experience is beneficial
  • You have a safety mindset and support Suncor’s Journey to Zero
  • You are detail oriented and follow the appropriate procedures when making decisions
  • You are someone that collaborates with other and has the ability to work with  wide variety of stakeholders
  • You hold others accountable, and expect others to do the same

Working Conditions

  • This is a camp-based position at the Fire Bag site
  • The shift schedule is a 8 days on/6 days off rotation
