Reporting to the team lead of integration services within our Digital and Enterprise Technical (D&ET) group, you will provide operations oversight, continuous improvement, and technology planning in support of infrastructure operations specific to Suncor’s business units.


  • Monitor business-specific operations including the management of support escalation activities on behalf of the business
  • Assist central operations support teams with translating new business demand into technical requirements, service definitions, service level options, regular service reviews, as well as ensuring that business demand/needs are provided as input into D&ET strategy
  • Collaborate with various D&ET teams, such as: leadership team architecture, infrastructure operations, and application operations, and provide technical mentorship to the business engagement teams in the development of business strategy, short and long term
  • Handle business-specific technical problem identification and represent business unit clients in problem management processes
  • Handle and communicate the business specific context for problem management cases
  • Participate in and translate technical analysis for post incident reviews (PIR), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for the business
  • Assist business-specific technical coordination of centrally led D&ET operations initiatives, improvements, and projects
  • Collaborate with the project team to assist the coordination of business demand and staff augmentation requirements ensuring quality, scope, and schedule meet business expectations
  • Investigate and communicate resolution of service request escalations
  • Identify operational excellence (process and efficiency) improvements and opportunities
  • Analyze trends from service requests or common issues from business and operations services groups to implement improvements
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all D&ET teams providing services to the business, service providers, key business personnel and local vendors

Required Qualifications

 
  • Minimum of five years of experience; oil and gas experience is preferred
  • Project management experience is an asset
  • ITIL foundation certification is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science or information technology is  preferred

  • Proficiency with Service Now is an asset
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong conflict identification and resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively with various sizes of highly focused and geographically dispersed teams
  • Proven to work in a team-based, customer-centered environment
  • A self-starter that can work with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and technical skills
  • Sense of urgency for resolution of key issues/initiatives
  • Professionalism, strong planning and organizational skills

Working Conditions

  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
