Reporting to the supervisor, building services, you will lead contractors in a safe, efficient and cost effective delivery of our industrial commodities regional services. Working closely with operations, maintenance and supply chain, you will be responsible for ensuring resources are handled cost effectively and our business objectives are met.

  • Take part in the development of standards, practices and procedures
  • Provide leadership to a team of contractors ensuring safe, effective and high quality services.
  • Coordinate on the ground delivery of fuel requirements, potable/septic services, as well as propane delivery and maintenance
  • Apply the appropriate allocation of resources
  • Prioritize and coordinate the work plan and shift priorities for the work schedule.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators, report any deviation from targets, implement corrective actions and work effectively with the team to drive improvements
  • Assist in creation of business plans to reliably meet or exceed performance expectations in safety, environmental, cost and productivity
  • Ensure compliance to our policies and standards include environmental health and safety (EH&S)
  • Drive a structured approach to upholding all standards and ensuring effective actions and programs are in place to sustain safety and reliability performance goals

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years’ working experience in a mining, oil and gas or similar industrial environment
  • Three or more years of supervisory or coordination experience
  • Planning or scheduling experience is preferred
  • A trade certificate, diploma, or degree in a relevant technical field or demonstrate equivalent operational experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • Demonstrated expertise in contractor management
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and SAP
  • Effective leadership skills with the ability to engage in a positive manner; you hold yourself and others accountable to always “do the right thing,” and expect others to do the same
  • A self-starter with strong project management skills, ability to handle conflicting priorities, and deliver on tight deadlines
  • You constantly interact with others across a multitude of business units and effectively collaborate with them to build positive relationships

Working Conditions

  • The shift schedule is 5 days on, 4 days off, 4 days on, 5 days off rotation 
  • If you reside outside of Fort McMurray, relocation of your primary residence to within 60 km of Fort McMurray is mandatory
  • Relocation support will be provided; we offer highly competitive housing assistance to eligible candidates
