Reporting to the supervisor, maintenance, you will be responsible for the in-field coordination, monitoring and auditing of maintenance execution activities.

  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary jobs of hourly and contract tradesmen employed in the repair, adjustment, modification, removal and/or installation of plant equipment and facilities, ensuring the integrity of work execution
  • Monitor contractor performance management
  • Complete safety audits, and participate and promote safety initiatives
  • Ensure incidents are managed and participate in incident investigations while implementing findings
  • Assist the supervisor with chairing morning toolbox talks and safety meetings
  • Strive to ensure the input of job history into the work order notifications
  • Communicate daily work plan strategy with the supervisor and ensure jobs are executed according to the job plan
  • Committed to compliance on job plans and execution with relevant quality control processes
  • Collaborate with quality assurance/quality control personnel to ensure maintenance of standards
  • Provide direction to front-line workers pertaining to changes and modifications to planned or cancelled work
  • Assist with materials or parts sourcing and procurement for found work and/or break-in’s as required

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of experience leading field coordination of multi discipline trades
  • Experience in conducting safety or incident investigations
  • Valid Alberta Journeyman Certificate or an Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate
  • Completed recognized leadership training is an asset
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Possess a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

  • You are an effective teammate with a proven history of collaborating with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You have strong communication skills to build relationships with a diverse group of people competing for resources
  • You have the ability to engage with all levels of area management, staff and workforce
  • Strong technical, decision-making and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel and Word

Working Conditions

  • This position has been identified as safety sensitive
  • This is a camp-based position at our Firebag site
  • The shift schedule is a 14 days on/ 14 days off rotation
  • Your time will be split 80/20 with field and office based work
