Reporting to the director, east tank farm (ETF) asset management, you will be responsible for representing the engineering function at the cross functional team (CFT) and leading a small team of engineers as well as the document control specialist.

  • Committed to the delivery of day-to-day engineering support to operations and maintenance ensuring overall process integrity, safety and cost effective operation of the existing Assets
  • Strive to work collaboratively with diverse groups of reliability and control systems engineers to support the needs of the CFT
  • Ensure management of change, risk management, regional and corporate technical standards and processes are adhered to
  • Coordinate longer term support to sustaining projects, reliability initiatives, and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Manage the engineering team performance and development. Ensure growth of direct reports, promote employee retention and engagement, team effectiveness and bench strength
  • Responsible for technical evaluations and investigations of incidents with a focus on continuous improvement strategies
  • Build positive relationships within the CFT to provide engineering support for major events and turnarounds with the ability to manage priorities cross-functionally
  • Committed to developing and executing annual goal plan for engineering team in conjunction with the ETF leadership team
  • Provide asset performance monitoring and track minimum service levels to ensure commercial obligations are met

Required Qualifications

  • Eight or more years of experience in engineering
  • Experience in leading, motivating, coaching and mentoring others
  • Deep knowledge of hydraulic, thermal processes; management of change process; risk management, and incident learning and prevention is an asset
  • University degree in engineering with APEGA P.Eng registration; chemical engineering preferred

  • You are an effective teammate with a proven history of collaborating with others in order to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
  • You have strong communication skills to build positive relationships with a diverse group of people competing for resources
  • You have the ability to engage with all levels of area management, staff and workforce
  • Strong technical, decision-making, analytical skills and the ability to think strategically
  • Strong computer skills including SAP, Excel and Word

Working Conditions

  • In times of shutdowns, emergencies, or operating incidents you will be responsible for being available at the site as required
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities, challenging demands, and strict deadlines
  • Member of the ETF emergency response management team
