Reporting to the category director, you will lead a team of contract management professionals who collaborate with the business to understand and forecast enterprise demand for materials and services, while building and implementing supply strategies for the provision of materials and services in the chemicals and fluids category.

  • Contribute to the establishment of annual sub-category objectives, measures, and performance targets
  • Consolidate sub-category demand for materials and services at the site and enterprise levels, while building and implementing supply strategies and tactical solutions
  • Ensure the development, administration, maintenance, and implementation of the enterprise commercial work plan for your sub-category
  • Evaluate and develop recommendations for the commercial structures of contracts
  • Ensure that contract compliance and overall spend management are consistent with the sub-category strategy and contracts, identify root causes of issues, and recommend strategies for resolution
  • Negotiate or oversee negotiations of all contracts, ensure supplier performance, and identify commercial optimization and demand reduction opportunities for the business units you support

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum ten years of experience in supply chain management with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Experience leading others and building high performing teams
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Expertise in driving strategy development within a highly complex environment
  • Knowledge of commercial contracts with the ability to balance technical and commercial issues
  • Excellent business acumen with a deep understanding of the chemicals and fluids sub-category
  • You are highly collaborative with superior networking and negotiating skills
  • You act with integrity, and constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential problems

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in Calgary, Alberta with a Monday to Friday work schedule
