  • Review area work notifications and establish initial risk ranking and priorities
  • Scrutinize spend rate on maintenance and contract service activities to identify and reduce cost overruns
  • Coordinate operations activities to support maintenance work schedules
  • Work with area operations personnel, shift supervisors, and Cross Function Team (CFT) members to prioritize area maintenance backlogs relative to overall refinery business priorities
  • Handle on-time execution of regulatory and reliability program initiatives
  • Assist with the selection of operations personnel for special assignments such as unit shutdowns, start-ups and turnarounds
  • Provide oversight of compliance with corporate and site-specific policies, guidelines and standards
  • Participate in the development and execution of turnaround scopes, unit start-up and shut-down guidelines, and equipment preparation plans
  • Assist with writing, reviewing and updating operating procedures and guidelines
  • Support and participates in area incident investigations as needed

Required Qualifications

 

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • 10 or more years of relevant experience in unit operation, or an equivalent combination of education and refinery and/or industrial operations experience
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Knowledge of refinery operation and maintenance functions
  • Knowledge of pipeline and product transportation facilities at a refinery
  • Well-developed and proven leadership skills including: strong communication, motivating and influencing others, problem solving, and accountability for outcomes and results

Preference for:

  • Experience with process business workflows in SAP, KMS, OLT and Enablon software applications
  • Dedication to study for and pass the entry-level (class D) Wastewater and Industrial Wastewater examinations for state of Colorado certifications
  • The ability to produce calculations, data analysis and written reports with Microsoft Excel, Word and occasionally Access software applications
  • The ability to develop and evaluate solutions to CFT issues that are feasible within refinery constraints and that deliver value to the base business

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other meaningful information:

  • You will work out of our Commerce City refinery, located at 5455 Brighton Blvd.
  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs (e.g. turnarounds) SAP:IND
