Reporting to the manager, workforce planning and strategies, you will be accountable for supporting Suncor’s annual workforce planning processes and helping human resources strategic partners (HRSPs) and leaders sustain those plans throughout the year. This role will also be involved in the team’s continuous improvement efforts in process effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Work closely with all stakeholders to support the enterprise-wide workforce planning processes and translate feedback into opportunities for improved process and sustainability
  • Ensure standardized processes and procedures are documented, understood and followed
  • Perform audits to ensure accurate and timely management of employee position and vacancy data in the workforce plan
  • Identify, analyze and act on continuous improvement opportunities for workforce planning processes
  • Working with the business units and functions, support the HRSPs and leaders in their endeavours to optimize workforce complement and costs
  • Actively participate in additional team projects

Required Qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience in workforce planning, organizational management, and/or general human resources
  • Significant tactical experience working within SAP, SuccessFactors or other human resources systems is strongly preferred
  • Experience with advanced programming functions, specifically visual basic for application (VBA)
  • Post-secondary degree in human resources management, business administration, statistics, mathematics or a related discipline is required

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office; specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Exceptional reporting and attention to detail skills combined with the ability to analyze multiple data sources
  • Prioritize work appropriately while working on multiple projects to meet tight timelines
  • You are able to consult to key stakeholders and identify their business opportunities, as well as partner and influence them when identifying problems and implementing solutions
  • You have exceptional communication skills and are able to build strong relationships across the organization to accomplish shared outcomes
  • You have a talent for visualizing data in compelling ways that tell a story
