Reporting to the team leader, inventory, you will deliver inventory compliance reports, manage and audit inventory activities, maintain materials master data, and optimize inventory levels to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied.

  • Build reports and distribute inventory performance results and perform root cause analysis for any issues
  • Coordinate the collection of inventory metrics as per agreement with each business unit with whom you collaborate
  • Provide inventory performance insight to inventory control function based on demand trends, supplier performance, lead times, warranty claims, and damage returns
  • Extract, validate, and cleanse master data by conducting data warehouse audits to ensure accuracy
  • Assess compliance with inventory policies and procedures as well as material master data change requirements that are related to inventory
  • Manage the materials requirements planning (MRP) exceptions process and make appropriate changes
  • Manage target stock level settings and make adjustments as required
  • Seek and participate in continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives across all aspects of inventory management
  • Collaborate actively with the supply operations team to evaluate business requirements, communicate expectations, and evaluate process optimization opportunities

Required Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of experience in supply chain management roles, with an emphasis on inventory management
  • Strong analytical background with extensive experience using Microsoft Excel to build reports for business use
  • Oil and gas, mining, or utilities industry experience is preferred
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

  • Working knowledge of SAP, particularly with the materials management (MM) module preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Aptitude to lead without authority and to influence decisions across a wide range of audiences
  • You do not take or tolerate shortcuts and if the procedure is incorrect, you fix
  • You constantly ask what could go wrong and check for out-of-the-ordinary conditions and learn to anticipate potential

Working Conditions

  • This position is based in Calgary, Alberta at the Suncor Energy Centre with a Monday to Friday schedule
